"Upon the Cliff"

Across the great expanse of time
In fiords on an ocean's rift
Broken dreams in forgotten themes
Upon the waters my hopes will drift
From seashore edges to mountaintops
On slopes where I may sit
A reflection of recollection
Sudden evenings in moonlit
Passage ways upon my mind
In hopes that I will never find
An end to thought in my reaction
To life and nature's attraction
I am but a lonely soul
At the mercy of earthly power
I sit upon the throne of grace
Inside the stately tower
Where I listen and closely watch
Ways that life may unfold
My conscience now at mankind's feet
And place my trust at His threshold
