Jeering voices which go unheard
Japed for our actions without favor
Our lungs aching with disbelief
The collective refusing to waiver
Incredulous in our convictions
Unable to change for anyone's sake
Words planted in our ears and minds
Did not cause us to quake
Many are the proud
Few are the humble
We beat our fists upon the walls
Closed doors and utter silence
No man is an island
Unto which he falls
No mercy shall be given
For this was something we never gave
Putrid odor emits from our place now
In the ensuing quave
Now we are looked upon with disdain
When the movement begins
No sun shall bring warmth to our bones
Wandering in the way as Beduins
We are found wanton
In the groaning of our inner pain
Realizing all has been said
Our voices and pleas now in vain

As the rabbit slumbers
Under the moon
Visitation occurs from the reeds
Most nights he is absent
Except at times when he feeds
His nourishment consists
Of his victims dreams
He thrives on the energy
Odd as it seems
No animal is safe from his grasp
For under the moon he creeps
Latching onto all the dreams
While his victim sleeps
Relentless in his pursuit
He makes his way through the night
Other than that he's quite harmless
In his ever evolving plight
The dream thief cringes
In disbelief
When he finds someone
Who has no dreams
Disatisfied is his appetite
He retires to the shadows
Of the moonbeams
Until he once again rises
Lurking in the night
Seeking out more dreams to steal
To suit his appetite

In silence appealing to one another
Emotions eternal in time
Humbled unto each other
Joined minds on a silent journey
Others who dare to inquire
Find themselves in query
Attempting to capture the solace
Of they cannot invade
Unto the stone images created
At the stroke of the master sculptor
Who has attempted to reveal
That which cannot be given
It can only be seen by those
Grasping the true meaning
Within the silence
Likened unto bleating lambs
Who in their innocence
Trust the inner senses
To lead them into safety
Though ravenous wolves prowl
Unable to invade
Silence and confidence
Carry a heavy weight against them
Yet though they may attempt
Mere words cannot exist
The silent mind defeats chaos
Where no enemy thrives
Resistance is null
Joined minds on their journey
Out in the open for all to see
Though they may not enter
Except within their own minds

Opinions kept in silence
Do not reach the ears of men
Nor do they become victims
To the sting of the tongue
My mouth serves as a den
Unto wolves who dwell within
Amongst my entwined branches
A beaten brow in survival
Elements of time in nature
Reveal such worn surfaces
Yet the marrow slumbers deeply
Within the safety of concealment
Words spoken only encourage
Xenophobia to flourish
Thriving in coexistence with dreams
Harmony fights against the variances
Yet it cannot force itself upon the wind
The beating of hearts flutter gently
Solid matter holds life's essence
Where the whims of thoughts
Unable to penetrate the barriers
Which separate and prevent
The crossing over of two edged swords
That would cut the bonds which hold
Eternal existence of all origins
Presiding upon the universe
Chaos reigns in the streets
Yet within the cries of the moanings
Voices can still be heard
Which speak with soft tongues
Revealing such truths for its own sake
Although such things often fall upon
Deaf ears of fallen men
My roots are deep into and upon
Earthen places that keep me
My thirst is replenished by the rains
There is still great hope for all humankind
Who walk upon this earth

Once on a trip to the planet Earth
My taste for sushi was acquired
Inhabitants of that place were fairly ugly
Their ways were not much to be desired
While out collecting specimens of herbs
I study them for the collective
The study of plants is my field of expertise
In reaching my main objective
In the fibers of such growths
Many miracles abide
My life's work holds me steady
Keeping me alive inside
All relative to a days work
As I go from planet to planet
Gallactic procedures and its rules
Are steadfast and written in granite
I never deviate from the plan
Ever mindful of the universe
With care to leave things in pristine condition
In utmost priority of the obverse
The only gem upon that surface
When I am at ease in my home
My taste for shushi which I find delicous
That causes me not to roam
It is a delicacy I do not wish to share
Or to let its existence be discovered
So I consume it secretly keeping it for myself
All of the sushi I've recovered
On my journeys to the planet Earth

When I close my eyes
The grey Leporidae
Floats in the clouds
Under the moon
Wherever I go it follows me
To the hill where my white horse roams
Cool water taken from silent wells
My horse quenches his thirst
He too notices the Leporidae
Floating in the sky above
It has followed him at times
Over the mounds trailed by hounds
Who attempt to persue
That evasive hare who remains at large
Out of the reach of the relentless ones
For he only shadows those he wishes
Entering into their dreams
When he wants to be found
By the side of the brook
His heartbeat can be heard
In the bullrushes and willows
Moonbeams gleam off the water in the brook
His reflection along with the moon
He floats gently back into the clouds
Following,always following
Like my shadow he follows
He is blanketed under the stars
Choosing when he wants to appear
As he fades into the sky
My white horse returns to his place
Where cool waters are taken from wells

The way of the wolf is solitude;
It hears beyond the edges of the horizon;
He sees beyond the souls of all men;
And feels the beating of each person's heart;
It knows contentment and the way of peace;
But also the ways of survival;
The wolf walks his own path;
For if anything be on the same path;
Then it is no longer his own;

From womb to tomb;
~
A convergence of two over a horizon;
One is entering into death;
Being taken and exasperated;
In its final breath;
Although an entrance makes its way;
In places where the exsistence of night and day;
A moot point to the creation of oneness:
~
Birth is at the expese of atoms in motion;
That envelop like an immense ocean;
Harmony unto variance in the cohesion;
Is the mix in the final adhesion;
There is a woe yet there is a mighty shout;
The center of the eyes that come into their own;
The positive against the negative forces;
Mighty winds that pull and moan;
The essence of time is against the lesser;
Witness unto the others doom;
Oneness has come at the others expense;
From the tomb unto womb;

The Flower Dream Spiral is almost a forgotten thing;
I have gone beyond the colorless Tree of Life;
And passed through the Lake of Reflections;
The Temple of Shadoveh and even Tarrogen;
Have fled having seen the Smokeless Fire;
Although the notes of music in bliss are with me;
I am found wanton and fear is in the way;
Ocosomemuh and Yatoquemark have passed this purging;
And cannot pass through it again with me;
This is the merging point where I will be made;
Quigleanamos hovered near me but now he must flee;
He awaits me at the cornerposts of my columns;
Although I do adore this great hall;
I am now in the presence of the Roving Eye;
In the great hall of the Checkerboard of Fates;
And before me all awaits;
The place of creation amongst all the spheres;
I am trembling within but I have no tears;
The Roving Eye is yet turned away;
The process of assignments has been put into motion;
From suns to moons to stars to skies;
I am in likeness to an insignifigant plankton in the ocean;
The Smokeless Fire awaits the call;
They are the recording djin's with each record of fate;
I continue to tremble within this hall of the Mighty and of the Great;

The penguin told the walrus they had a trip to take;
The walrus wanted to wait a while and take his daily nap;
So the penguin waited and death was put on hold;
Precious minutes for some creature to be told;
A polar bear of four decades spent his time on top;
A floating iceberg that was his shelter;
He thought of all his cubs and knew he was dying slowly;
And had this time to reflect;
How things had been good for him and his kind;
He had heard the last of the seals before his sleep;
The sun had caressed his eyes one more time;
It was so silent upon the berg and in peace;
Soon time to close his eyes for the last;
Thank you old walrus for your tired feet and eyes;
We shall meet again beyond;
Now the penguin must do his work;

Incadescence of the fluorescent terrain;
A fractal landscape in one's own mind;
Diverse trees in muddy waters;
That shine on as if they had no place in time;
What is it called-that evasive thing;
An origin of life is in the way;
Just sit down and spit out another atmosphere;
Machines can do a good enough job to replace;
While were at it let's eliminate another race;
Of people or we can do a test on a species of birds;
Firstly and then go on from there;
You know what has been said-
Nothing more will be put on us than what-
We can bear;
The vacilating visisitudes of life;
Are nothing more than strife;
Dead fish that float on waters;
With neon eyes that glaze;
Infected cattle with the death rattle;
Barely standing as they graze;
pouring smoke belches out;
The whoremongers continue with their greed;
A sun that is red from toxic fumes;
Rusty orange clouds lurking;
Bituminous has replaced Anthracite;
Money has replaced love;

The tree lady sings with her arms stretched wide;
Deep are the roots to her soulful eyes;
She is the culmination of all that is pure;
Her giving branches into all that applies;
I wish I had a mother like that;
Who could look down on me with pride;
Alas I have no mother like that;
Who can sing to me by her side;
All I can do is look up and see;
Her face within the tree;
She could hold me steady like her baby;
And this I could forsee;
Her words would be found in the whistling winds;
Her song weaving through the branches;
Falling leaves that flutter to the ground;
In a steadiness like avalanches;
Upon my face with no disgrace;
They are like kisses upon my cheek;
The tree lady dear takes away my fear;
Oh how I wish she could speak;
A branch caresses my shoulder;
It seems as if to say;
You know your place,now you must go;
To find your own pathway;

Upon the waves ride unicorns
Under the cover of darkness
Safe from prying eyes
That would dispell their exsistence
At the expense of a child's tears
In spite of the mermaid princess
Who brings joy to the hearts of children
Who look to the skies in their innocence
To find something they can believe in
That will carry them off to the meadows
In the dream like state of their minds
Only to find such joy in the stars
Under the moon in the heavens
Amidst the clouds that give cover
For the unicorns who ride the waves

His name is the Boogeyman
who hid in the closet
When I was a boy of age eight
After the lights went out at night
He would stay awake and wait
I pulled up my blanket over my head
But I could hear his heavy breath
My father rescued me many times
From the close calls with Boogeyman death
You couldn't depend on him being in the closet
At times he would be under my bed
Waiting for me to hang my legs down
Past the edge of my bedspread
Sometimes he'd hide in the corner of my room
In the shadow of a tree from outside
Or he might be out in the hallway waiting
Just as had been prophesied
I would tap the end of my bed frame
'til our dog heard my call of distress
Here she would come to my bedside
To relieve me from all of my stress
The Springer Spaniel named Dutchess
She was fearless and vicious and bold
Climb under the covers with me Dutchess
Bite the boogeyman if he comes near us
And chase him out into the cold

Upwards through industrial pipes that are clanging
Clamoring spirits in my head are haranguing
They bounce off the pipes at lightning speed
Commiting theirselves to the very deed
Of keeping alive the old refinery
Where the tears of oil revolve
Screwing unions turn without oil
In centrifugal force that will not resolve
The building shifts on its artificial axis
Groaning smokestacks refuse to make claim
Like nimble fingers that reach for the sky
As though they were preparing to make shame
Skeletonized makeshift elevator shafts
Catwalks that drip with dog water
Iron slides down into the muck
Ready for the ingot slaughter
When it pours free from Besemers
Iron stammers in flow
Into the forms where it conforms
As the ingots lose their bright glow
A settling takes place in the disgrace
Sword beaten plowshares become weapons of war
Deep goes the clanging of the protruding pipes
Down to the very core
Where the transformation takes total control
Beyond the exsistence of the dark black hole
Shattering lives in a distant land
At the mercy of the cuckold command

I asked for no pity or acknowledgement
Rather it came to me inquiring so
Rejection and misunderstanding
Has been a familiar occurence for me
My tears are connected to my heart
My heart is connected to my mind
It is inseperable from my body
Yet within my broken spirit is a secret place
Where no rejection survives
It is true that Apollonius of Rhodes looked upon me
This is the name his mother gave him
But she did not teach him about compassion
He is a bloody sort who holds the head of Medusa
Not thinking about anybody but himself
Therefore because I am aloof and forlorn
I am known as Andromeda
Like a band of stars that remains separated
From all planetary bodies
Within its folds is the secret place
Appollonius slew the dragon and took me
Yet within his passion remained an objective
I revealed my true heart to Athena after my death
It was I who chained myself to the rock
Poseidon summoned Ceto for the work to be done
I am the queen of men even above and beyond
The oracle of Ammon
My feet upon the rock was my message
Take heed to the lapping waters
In likeness to the people who task me
I am whitened like marble from vexation
My heart pumps sorrow through my veins
Chained to this rock I pray that it will end
My father the king does not know my heart
Though I am the queen to all men
There is no man that knows what I desire
Rather it is foolish folly for them to think
That it is passion which I seek
My secret floats upon the gentle breeze
Yet it falls upon deaf ears
I am undiscovered and remote
My tears are not noticed except in the heavens
In a place where I cannot be touched or heard
Only gazed upon in wonder
Tender kisses and sweet breath only existed in my dreams

"Please Hear What I'm Not Saying"
Don't be fooled by me.
Don't be fooled by the face I wear.
For I wear a mask, a thousand masks,
masks that I am afraid to take off,
and none of them is me.
Pretending is an art that's second nature with me,
but don't be fooled.
For God's sake don't be fooled.
I give the impression that I am secure,
that all is sunny and unruffled with me,
within as well as without,
that confidence is my name and coolness my game,
that the water's calm and I'm in command,
and that I need no one.
But don't believe me.
My surface may seem smooth, but my surface is my mask,
ever-varying and ever-concealing.
Beneath lies no complacence.
Beneath lies confusion and fear and aloneness.
But I hide this. I don't want anybody to know it.
I panic at the thought of my weakness and fear being exposed.
That's why I frantically create a mask to hide behind,
a nonchalant sophisticated facade,
to help me pretend,
to shield me from the glance that knows.
But such a glance is precisely my salvation.
My only hope and I know it.
That is, if it's followed by acceptance,
if it's followed by love.
It's the only thing that can liberate me from myself,
from my own self-built prison walls,
from the barriers I so painstakingly erect.
It's the only thing that will assure me of what I can't assure myself,
that I'm really worth something.
But, I don't tell you this. I don't dare. I am afraid to.
I am afraid your glance will not be followed by acceptance,
will not be followed by love.
I'm afraid you'll think less of me, that you'll laugh,
and your laugh would kill me.
I'm afraid that deep-down I'm nothing, that I'm just no good,
and that you will see this and reject me.
So I play my game, my desperate pretending game,
with a facade of assurance without
and a trembling child within.
So begins the glittering but empty parade of masks,
and my life becomes a front.
I idly chatter to you in the suave tones of surface talk.
I tell you everything that's really nothing,
and nothing of what's everything,
of what's crying within me.
So when I am going through my routine,
do not be fooled by what I'm saying.
Please listen carefully and try to hear what I'm not saying,
what I'd like to be able to say,
what for survival I need to say,
but what I can't say.
I don't like to hide.
I don't like to play superficial phony games.
I want to stop playing them.
I want to be genuine and spontaneous and me,
but you've got to help me.
You've got to hold out your hand
even when that's the last thing I seem to want.
Only you can wipe away from my eyes that
blank stare of the breathing dead.
Only you can call me into aliveness.
Each time you're kind and gentle and encouraging,
each time you try to understand because you really care,
my heart begins to grow wings,
very small wings,
very feeble wings,
but wings!
With your power to touch me into feeling
you can breathe life into me.
I want you to know that.
I want you to know how important you are to me,
how you can be a creator - a honest-to-God creator -
of the person that is me
if you choose to.
You alone can break down the wall behind which I tremble,
you alone can remove my mask,
you alone can release me from my shadow world of panic
and uncertainty, from my lonely prison,
if you choose to.
Please choose to. Do not pass me by.
It will not be easy for you.
A long conviction of worthlessness builds strong walls.
The nearer you approach to me,
the blinder I may strike back.
It's irrational, but despite what the books say about man,
often I am irrational.
I fight against the very thing that I cry out for.
But I am told that love is stronger than strong walls,
and in this lies my hope.
Please try to beat down those walls
with firm hands
but with gentle hands
for a child is very sensitive.
Who am I, you may wonder?
I am someone you know very well.
For I am every man you meet
and I am every woman you meet.
~Charles C. Finn~

Beauty was not in the flower of my eye
It was nowhere to be found
Amongst the thorns in my heart
Light emanated through my window
Turning to darkness
Before it reached me
Simple scars in discreet places
Each one like an epitaph
Upon my soul
Recollections bring it to life
As though the cuttings were anew
Fresh blood flows once again
Down my arms and into my mind
Salt from my sweat stings
Ebbing into the wounds
Reminding me that they are still there
Unwilling to vacate their places
Chaining me to myself
So that I many not ascend
Unto places where they cannot exsist
Hear the crying that is deep
My words are concealed
Hidden from prying eyes
Who would only cause more pain
In well meaning phrases
Showing me that they have no faith
In what I am able to do
Rather than to lift me up
Their words are the same
As if they caused the wound to appear
From the time it was born
Unto my heart and unto my soul
There are places where words
Do not exist
That is what I want;
To go and find my beauty
If there is a path
To take me from my rath
That I keep within me
To quench the tears that flow

At its own pace the world turns
The flickering flame slowly burns
Cogs that determine the way things flow
Yet who would ever know
If not for the motion that is so
~
In constant variables that equal
A planet that rests on its axis
Atlas never held the world
Upon his mighty shoulders
Neither does Neptune
Rule the mighty seas
Yet there is a man who adjusts
Those cogs accordingly
In the winter breeze
Without him centrifugal force
Would cease to exist
Carefully he torques the cogs
With the gentle turn of his wrists
